I just returned from a 4-day ATS General Skills Intensive. It was wonderful but certainly intense! My understanding and appreciation for the true original ATS style has grown and deepened. Being taught by the ATS master tag team of Carolena (Fat Chance Belly Dance) and Megha (Devyani Dance) was an experience I will always treasure. It took a lot of hard work to make it through all four days and I'm very proud of this photo of me (center) with Carolena (l.) and Megha (r.) as I received my certifications for both Classic and Modern ATS curriculum at the end. Now I'm more enthused and passionate than ever about teaching and performing the fabulous elegant ATS style with my students.

OCTOBER Halloween Hafla - Saturday, October 20
Tribal Sisters are performing at a fun and fabulous evening of belly dance performances by and for Nashville area belly dancers, friends and fans. Come in costume!
Suggested donation: $5. (includes a cup for beer)
Contributions to the finger foods and drinks for guests are welcome.

Our Beginning Level 1 ATS class members are doing really well. Some have experience in other belly dance styles like Cabaret or Fusion, but most have never belly danced before. We still have room for 1 or 2 more students to start this coming Sunday, Sept. 30, but the class will be closed to newcomers after that. We will have more Beginning Level classes starting in January, 2013.

Beginning ATS (American Tribal Style) Belly Dance classes taught by Barbara Abernathy of Tribal Sisters start on Sunday, Sept. 16 at 11 am in Brentwood. Try your first class for FREE! Cost is $12 single class, $44 for 4 classes, $80 for 8 classes.If you are interested please fill out the contact form on this site and you will receive details. Some belly dance experience is helpful but not required. This class will cover ATS basics, lead and follow techniques and simple formations.
